The Smell Lab Studio is a Berlin based platform dedicated to olfactory art and interdisciplinary practices that use scent as a medium for expression and communication. Its mission is to co produce, host, teach, innovate and support artistic work involving smell in both local and international contexts. The studio was founded by Klara Ravat, an olfactory artist from Barcelona. She studied qualitative trend research in Barcelona, then completed an ArtScience degree at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague while also studying psychology at the UOC. In 2017, she joined The Institute for Art and Olfaction to co produce the first Experimental Scent Summit. Her artistic practice, combined with her background in trend research and psychology, provides a multidisciplinary foundation for understanding human sensory processes and guiding the Smell Lab Studio’s work.
